A Message From Deby's Machine Service....
After over 35 years of working on sewing machines, it still surprises me when I hear someone say, "I was told it didn't need service!"
The only one that would say that to you is someone who wants you to purchase a new machine. All sewing machines need maintenance-just like cars. Machines have moving parts that need room to move and oil, generally, to keep them functioning properly. When lint and debris get deep down into your machine, it causes binding and wear that should not happen. Parts can be "reshaped" or totally broken from not having enough room to move.
Most people take good care of the immediate sewing area, but a qualified technician can clean deep inside your machine and it will work better-LONGER. All factories would like you to have your machine serviced about every two years.
Service should be more often for the heavy users.
As an independent technician, I have developed a "Sit, Repair, and Sew" session. This is where small groups can meet and I come in and service your machine on the spot-the same day. I do the same amount of work (sometimes
a lot more) as a retail store technician. However, I'm not answering phones, waiting on other customers or trying to sell you a new machine.
Individual machine service can be done at my home/business. Please send me a note to make sure I am there. I am happy to make your sewing easier.
